Paula Arguello

I’m a second-year PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, advised by Professor Mahdi Soltanolkotabi. My research focuses on computational imaging, medical imaging, and deep learning, with an emphasis on building reliable learning-based imaging systems. Before beginning my PhD, I worked as a Junior Research Scientist at Ubicept (2024–2025) on SPAD-based imaging. I earned my BS in Systems Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia, where I was a member of the High Dimensional Signal Processing (HDSP) research group. Outside of research, I enjoy fashion, unwinding with video games, and seeking out an excellent cup of coffee—I’m admittedly a bit of a coffee snob.
